Guided tour of the Culcasi Salt Pans and the Museum
The Culcasi salt pans are located within the oriented reserve of the salt pans of Trapani and Paceco managed by the WWF in the historic salt workers' cottage.
Inside the salt pans there is a museum where you can see the old tools used by the salt workers and photos of moments of the harvest.
Outside, you can visit the various tanks of the salt pans that are still active after centuries and produce salt that is strictly natural and integral, subject only to grinding to obtain the various grain sizes.
Thanks to a guided tour, museum guests can retrace the steps and events of a history spanning centuries. Visiting these places allows one to discover the harmonies of a territory, which unites sea and land. Moreover, the excursion helps to understand the high cultural value of an ancient activity, which is still current, that of salt production.
After visiting the museum, it is possible to walk through the surrounding salt pans. Among the canals dividing the various salt pans, visitors stroll through an evocative and colourful atmosphere.
Salt sales and guided tours take place all year round.
