{"id":2908,"date":"2021-10-11T08:26:42","date_gmt":"2021-10-11T08:26:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.itineraridelgustotrapani.it\/uncategorized\/pilgrims-house\/"},"modified":"2021-10-11T08:26:42","modified_gmt":"2021-10-11T08:26:42","slug":"pilgrims-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.itineraridelgustotrapani.it\/en\/uncategorized\/pilgrims-house\/","title":{"rendered":"Pilgrim\u2019s House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Next to the shrine is the former \u201c<strong>Pilgrim\u2019s House and Franciscan monastery<\/strong>\u201d with architectural elements from the 1500\u2019s and, inside, a staircase dating back to 1601.<\/p>\n<p>Now used as the <strong>sanctuary\u2019s museum<\/strong>, it contains works related to the cult of \u2018<strong>Our Lady of Custonaci<\/strong>\u2019, including a work from the workshop of\u00a0 Antonello Crescenzio (tempera on wood, 1541) and a wooden niche with a Madonna and Child Enthroned, of sixteenth century Sicilian manufacture, both depicting \u2018Our Lady of Custonaci\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Of all the sculptures and paintings, special attention must be given to the elegant and sturdy decorated wooden case which was used for the \u201ctransportation\u201d to and from Erice of the precious painting of the <em>Madonna di Custonaci<\/em>.
