Entrance ticket to the Museum of the Dancing Satyr
The Museum of the Dancing Satyr is an archaeological museum located in Mazara del Vallo.
Established by the Regione Sicilia [Sicilian Region] in 2005, it is housed in the former church of Sant'Egidio, and takes its name from its most prestigious piece, the Dancing Satyr. The precious bronze statue, datable to the end of the 4th century BC and attributable to the school of the great artist, Praxiteles.
The Museum exhibits artefacts from the waters of the Sicilian Channel, including a bronze fragment of an elephant's foot from the Punic-Hellenistic period, a bronze cauldron from the Middle Ages, a selection of transport amphorae from the Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic, Punic, Roman and Medieval periods.
Also on display are two iron cannons from Torretta Granitola, from which some Corinthian and Ionic capitals are also on display.

Entrance times: Every day, including holidays, from 9:00 to 19:45. Ticket service until 19:45
